日本に居た男 | Man in Japan – Constantine Markopoulos

“Concept Album” A sonic storyboard that transports the listener to an otherwise unreachable place which follows an established theme or motif.

This is the most succinct way I can describe my intention with the “日本に居た男 | Man in Japan” record.

Over a seventeen day solo expedition around the captivating landscapes of Japan I captured both the sounds and vision for the album.

Armed with my childhood curiosity, keen eye and ear for detail, notebook, and field recorder…I found inspiration in the people, places, and rich culture I encountered.

In an attempt to take the audience through my auditory memory, the album’s sequence of recordings and locations follows the chronological order of my trip.

I am proud to present this representation of a powerful moment in time and hope it inspires others to follow their own path.

Gravity – Ben Lukas Boysen

Although the title of Boysen’s first solo album suggests a Newtonian law of physics representing the omnipresent pull towards a greater mass…I can’t help but feel weightless once gravity connects the needle to this record. After discovering this was a digitally programmed piano I was hearing, I continue to marvel modern technology and how it can be tamed by the creative human to synthesize sonic bliss.
